VIDEOPAGE ANSWERS

What is a Videopage?

Videopage is a multi-purpose touchscreen device that plays MP4, MPG, AVI and VOB videos. Simply, it is a USB flash drive with an integrated video screen and speaker. It is a patent-pending device.

The most popular application of the Videopage is to incorporate it in regular photo books. For example, in a post-wedding situation, a photo album (or book) and a DVD are produced as separate mementos of the event. (Lately, videographers produce a flash drive of the captured videos or post them on social media.) The entire DVD content can be downloaded to the Videopage, which can then be mounted inside the photo album. The result is a unique singular keepsake that allows the user to enjoy and relive all the captured memories of the wedding.

The same idea is true for photo books that commemmorate birthdays, travel/ vacation, schoolyear, sports, and other special events.

Social media make photo books as things of the past. Then what is a Videopage good for?

The Videopage is a means to off-load videos from your smartphone, tablets, cameras and/or computers that take up a lot of storage space. Indeed, social media sites are popular means to host videos, but at the expense of privacy and security. Beware that MySpace and Yahoo were once the dominant social media sites at the turn of the millenium.

The Videopage is a personal device that is kept private (or shared at-will) and is never compromised.

The Videopage is used as a stand-alone device. Videos on VHS tapes and other older media can be transferred to the Videopage. Even DVDs are becoming obsolete. It is a device so modern, so compact, so easy-to-use, and is also a way to rediscover long-forgotten videos.

The Videopage is also used in education. From 2nd grade history presentations to 5th grade science fair projects to college-level research posters, the Videopage supplements any poster board presentation with visual graphics and engaging sound. People's attention span is getting shorter and shorter. This device is guaranteed to grab people's attention and keep them entertained.

The Videopage is also used in advertising. We have worked with local businesses to promote their products and services with this device. Way better than a flyer or a brochure, this device can be given out to prospective customers for potential high value sales.

How do I download my own video to the VizQard (2.4-inch screen)?

The VizQard (business card sized Videopage) decodes and plays back an older Native AVI video format. Current AVI format is not supported. This Native AVI format has a screen resolution of 320 x 240. A Windows-based video converter software has been made available for users to convert their own video files to this format. This software has not been tested in Windows® 10, but is guaranteed to work in Windows® 8, 7, Vista, and XP. The converter software and its instructions are available in this link

As an option and for your convenience, we can do this conversion for you for free. Video4Books provides a complimentary service to re-format user's video file for optimal playback on the VizCard. Screen resolution is optimized, as well as audio level. Contact us with your request and we will reply within the same business day. The turn-around time for this complementary service is 72 hours after receiving your video file. The converted AVI file we provide you will be the one you download to your Vizcard.

Are your prices the same as in Amazon?

Not always. The company website Video4Books.com has the latest products and all the special deals. Coupon codes and promos sent out via email newsletters are redeemable only at this website.

VIDEOBOOK ANSWERS

What is a Videobook? How is it different from a Photo book?

Essentially a Videobook is a lay-flat or press-printed photo book with a Videopage mounted either in the inside front or inside back cover of the book. The Videopage allows the user to playback video clips right inside the book. The Videopage adds the auditory sensation as well as greatly enhance the visual experience of enjoying a hard-cover book. On some versions of the Videopage, the user can view videos while browsing through the rest of the book.

How do I order a personalized Videobook?

The Videobook is a 3-step process: (1) Photo enhancement, layout, and review; (2) Photo book finalization and printing; and (3) Videopage preparation and installation. For a personalized Videobook order without any photo layout from the customer, i.e. starting from scratch, all three steps must occur. If the customer has a pre-designed photo layout and is ready to proceed, only the last 2 steps are necessary.

The first step is conducted by a graphic designer assigned to your project. Video4Books partners with professional creative designers to produce the layout of each page and cover of the Videobook. The designers use Google Drive or Dropbox for all image (photo and video) files. This means the customer uploads those files to a folder in their own Google Drive or Dropbox account, and share that folder to Video4Books@gmail.com for access. Currently, this website is not structured to handle file transfer and storage. Once the designer receives all the files, s/he will do the very best to include them all in the book. Some photos may get sorted out however. A number of things that the customer and the designer initially discuss via email are the general theme, image amount, color preferences, book size and format, video length, music preferences, deliverables and schedule, payments, etc. The designer will email the photo layout in PDF to the customer for review. The customer then submits in writing any changes desired. The review process may take several iterations for several weeks, depending on the response time of the customer. We never finalize the layout until the customer is happy and approves the layout.

The next two steps are what we call Videobook Printing.

What is Videobook Printing?

If the customer has an existing and approved photo book layout, then transforming the photo book into a Videobook is only a two-step process.

First is Photobook finalization and printing. To start the project, we require the customer to provide the highest resolution PDF or JPG files for each page of the book. These files can be shared to us via Google Drive or Dropbox. Our standard page count is 30 (or 15 spreads for lay-flat version) plus the front and back cover. Page count greater than this may accrue additional fee. Book printing takes 10 to 15 business days.

Second is Videopage preparation and installation. The customer usually provides the videos while the book is getting printed, again using Google Drive or Dropbox. We strongly recommend the videos to be broken up to several files (or clips), where each clip is no longer than the average human attention span. We also reformat the video files for optimal visual and audio playback on the Videopage device. The device is then resized and decorated to match the size and general theme of the book. Once the book is printed, Videopage installation adds 2 business days.

Shipping of the Videobook is via USPS Priority Mail. If the customer is within a 60-mile radius of the 858 area code in the US, a personalized delivery and product demonstration can be arranged at no additional cost.

Note that the price quote for Videobook Printing on this website does not include photo enhancement, layout, and review.

Why only square books?

Our default Videobook sizes are 8 x 8, 10 x 10, and 12 x 12, all in inches. Other book sizes, such as the popular 8.5 x 11, 8 x 10, or 11 x 14, can be requested in advance at no additional cost. The price quote for the 8.5 x 11 and 8 x 10 book is the same as that of the 10 x 10 book. The price quote for the 11 x 14 book is the same as that of the 12 x 12 book. The largest book we can print at this time is 11 x 14 while the smallest book is 8 x 8. Keep in mind that the 7-inch Videopage device will fit in a 8.5 x 11 book and bigger, but not in a 8 x 8 nor 8 x 10 book.

VIDEOCARD ANSWERS

How is this different from Videopage?

VideoCards are customized versions of the standard Videopage. This means the printed design and video content of the VideoCard are provided by the customer. Most recently, our customers have used Videocards as wedding video invitation, wedding party favor, event souvenir, video business card (VizQard), corporate advertisement, product catalog, etc.

How do I order custom printing on the business-card sized VideoCard, aka VizQard?

The VCARD-24-MAG-256M unit is a customizable version of the VPAGE-24-DIY-256M unit. On the VCARD-24-MAG-256M, we can print your design on the packaging. The VPAGE-24-DIY-256M has a blank design. Both are business-card sized. Here is how to order the VCARD-24-MAG-256M:

1.   Customer places the order through this website or by phone.
2.   Customer uploads design artwork and video files to a folder in own Google Drive or Dropbox account.
  • Highest resolution PDF or JPG files of the artwork for the three customizable surfaces. Each surface is 2.25 inch high by 3.75 inch wide.

3.   Customer shares the folder to Video4Books@gmail.com for access by Video4Books.
